About the Book
Curse of the Cuckoo is the third book in the Lonely Ballerina Trilogy, a continuation from Lonely Ballerina and The Girl.
Curse of the Cuckoo continues to follow the fortunes of Zoe, a working-class estate girl from East Leeds with a unique psychic gift. Her powers are desired by many and varied as she seeks normality in her life but is constantly held back by an innate sense of duty. Her struggle to direct her own destiny is compounded as she stumbles from one paranormal pandora’s box only to be exposed to another.
A suspicious traveller lands on Leeds Bridge in the year 1791. Bedraggled and almost penniless he sets about the Georgian town seeking work and shelter and soon makes quite a reputation for himself. Battling the demons of his murky past he struggles to gain the respect and acceptance of the local fraternity.
The dark shadows of Zoe’s childhood come back to haunt her as her destiny and status within the realms of the higher orders are finally fixed in place.
